Down with the sickness

This site has been a ghost-town for the past week or so due to a brutal case of some mutated flu-related illness keeping me down and off the internet. I suspect biological warfare from some rabid Jon Stewart fans. Or Hamas. Or same difference. I'm only JOKING people, relax.

I'm still not 100% back to "normal" but speaking of being down with a sickness, here's an example of more of that evil Israeli Zionist genocide against Palestinians we keep hearing about:

Medics at Israel's newly inaugurated border clinic expressed their frustration Tuesday at the lack of patients from Gaza coming to the facility, which is situated on the Strip's northern border, and was officially opened Sunday.

Wow! How terrible!

The facility is staffed with emergency specialists, pediatricians, family physicians, gynecologists/obstetricians, trauma experts, surgeons, orthopedists, ophthalmologists, otolaryngologists and other experts.

But will they accept HMO's?? If not it's racist and discriminatory! Call the Human Rights commission!

Tony Laurance, acting head of the World Health Organization's office in Gaza and the West Bank, told The Jerusalem Post earlier this week that he doubted that Palestinians would be allowed by their leaders to access the clinic.

So let me get this straight...Israel sets up a clinic for injured Palestinians, Hamas doesn't allow the Palestinians to use it...and ISRAEL is condemned for war crimes. This is the way the world works these days. Thanks again to the Jerusalem Post for reporting the stories no one west of Tel Aviv or east of Jerusalem will.

More developments from the recently completed Operation Cast Lead pouring in...we have this article from Haaretz, this one from the Sydney Morning Herald and this one from yes, no less an authority than CNN.COM all confirm previous reports on this blog of Hamas executing Palestinian civilians and hijacking supply convoys intended for Palestinians. I'm sure the UN will be demanding an independent investigation any minute now. Any minute...

In other news, mass rape is committed in the Congo (including allegations against the UN "peacekeeping" force stationed there), Islamist "fighters" seize control of the headquarters for the UN-backed government just a few hours after Ethiopean troops left under a cease-fire deal and the Sri Lankan government has bombed approximately 15 hospitals and killed 66 civilians in the past three days.

So to recap...

Number of non-oil-Arab-related-Palestinians killed by non-evil-bank-controlling-Jew-related-Israelis: hundreds

Number of world-wide protests condemning these attacks: zero

It seems you're having some trouble
In dealing with these changes
Living with these changes
Oh no, the world is a scary place
Now that you've woken up the demon ... in me

Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Open up your hate, and let it flow into me

Lyrics by Disturbed - warning EXPLICIT content on that site.

This world is officially, absolutely, out of its collective mind. There's just nothing to discuss - no justice, no logic, nothing. Israel gets trounced in the court of public opinion for defending itself against Hamas murderers, but these rapists, Islamic fascists and borderline dictatorships get a FREE PASS.

But why get mad? We'll be much happier if we just get down with the sickness.

Right?

Does not compute

These attacks by Israeli military forces which endanger UN facilities acting as places of refuge are totally unacceptable and must not be repeated. Equally unacceptable are any actions by militants which endanger the Palestinian civilian population.
-Ban Ki-Moon, UN Secretary-General

The Bureau of the Committee demands that Israel end, immediately and unconditionally, its brutal military campaign against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
-The Bureau of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People

Look at the conditions in Gaza: more and more, it resembles a big concentration camp.
-Cardinal Renato Martino, president of the Vatican's Council for Justice and Peace

The Holocaust, that is what is happening right now in Gaza
-Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez

This always surprised me. Why can't any American politician criticize Israel in any way for their behavior?
-Jon Stewart

Be prepared for a unique surprise, you will be either killed or kidnapped and will suffer mental illness from the horrors we will show you.
-Izzedin Al Qassam Brigades

5.4 million

400,000

65,000

3,400

900.

Something doesn't quite add up here.

The first number, 5.4 million, was the number of people killed in the Democratic Republic of Congo since a 1998 civil war began. That war continues today despite numerous peace treaties.

The second number, 400,000, is the number of people killed in the Darfur region of the Sudan since a 2003 outbreak of violence between the government-backed Janjaweed militias and the secular "rebels" of the region. Approximately 100 additional people were killed there a few of weeks ago. Fighting continues in Darfur today.

The third number, 65,000, is the number of Sri Lankans killed since the late 1980s, most of which have been civilians. During the war in Gaza, the Sri Lankan government forces overran the last stronghold of the Tamil Tigers -- a group considered a terrorist organization by the U.S. government -- at the expense of dozens of civilians. Approximately 50,000 government troops are currently advancing through the jungle, taking aim at the rebels.

The fourth number, 3,400 is a conservative estimate of the number of Palestinians killed by the Jordanian government in the span of 11 days during the Black September Jordanian civil war of 1970. Palestinian estimates claimed more than 20,000 dead.

The final number, 900 is the number of Palestinians killed as of Jan. 13 in Israel's current war of self-defense against Hamas, the vast majority of which have been terrorists.

Yet it is Israel that is condemned by the U.N., the Vatican, and the rest of the world. It is Jews that are attacked all over Europe and Israeli sports stars that are demonized for the defensive actions of their homeland.

Why is this? How can this be? How can 900 dead Palestinians cause so much international commotion while more than five million dead Africans cause nothing? Where are these sweeping quotes from all over the world when every day more innocent people die in these conflicts than have died during the entire span of the Israeli operation against Hamas? Where are the protests? Where are the calls for action, the Holocaust imagery, the demands for immediate ceasefires? Where are the rushed Security Council meetings?

The numbers just do not add up.

Interestingly, the answer lies not in the hate-filled comments from buffoons like Hugo Chavez.

Or comedians/apologists like Jon Stewart.

Rather it is statements like Ban Ki-Moon's that provide a glimpse into how the U.N. and the rest of the "peace camp" view this conflict.

So you don't have to scroll up here is that quote again:

These attacks by Israeli military forces which endanger UN facilities acting as places of refuge are totally unacceptable and must not be repeated. Equally unacceptable are any actions by militants which endanger the Palestinian civilian population.

Let's break this down for a minute. At first glance this quote is standard, even-handed political double-talk. We condemn one side, but we condemn the other side also. Neither side is right; they're both wrong. When you're trying to be an umpire, you have to be impartial, right?

But that's not what's going on here.

The secretary-general is saying that Israel attacking places of refuge is unacceptable. Then he says Hamas using those same places of refuge is equally unacceptable. However, this is a huge logical fallacy! It's not equally bad because if Hamas did not use schools as bases to bomb Israelis in the first place, the IDF would not have to attack the school! If two people get into a fistfight they are not EQUALLY liable...whoever throws the first punch is responsible for everything that happens afterward because if that person had not initiated the action - the fight would never have occurred. In Ban Ki-Moon's version of reality, Hamas did not start this fight...both parties are equally liable for it. And to take that stance in a clear war of self-defense, where a UN member state is aiming to protect its citizens from a terrorist entity, shows that the Secretary General and by extension the entire UN are simply not an honest broker in this matter.

By claiming there is moral equivalency between both sides when one side clearly initiated the fighting, when that same side DELIBERATELY targets innocent civilians while the other side showed restraint for EIGHT YEARS and takes great pains to AVOID killing innocent civilians, the United Nations is actually saying is that Hamas is right and Israel is wrong. If Hamas has an equal right to put civilians in harm's way as Israel does to defend their civilians from being put in harms way...what he is actually saying is that Israel DOES NOT HAVE A RIGHT TO DEFEND ITS OWN CIVILIANS FROM HAMAS ROCKETS. But it does have an obligation to protect Palestinian civilians from the actions of Hamas! Therefore there actually is no moral equivalency. Hamas is right and Israel is wrong.

And there it is. That's the difference between all those other conflicts and this one. This is why the UN has acted like it regretted passing the Partition Plan ever since 1947. Unlike the Congolese or Sri Lankan conflicts, there is no ambiguity here in the eyes of the UN. The Palestinians are right and the Israelis are wrong. Why else would the Palestinians be the only ethnic group on the planet to even have a "Bureau of the Committee on the Exercise" of their "Inalienable Rights" ?? In the eyes of the UN, the Palestinians are treated more unjustly than the Tamils of Sri Lanka and the secular Africans of Darfur and Congo. And we know the problem is the Jews because we do not have demands from the UN (or anyone else) that the Jordanians take responsibility for the Palestinians, despite the fact that Jordan killed significantly more Palestinians in the span of a few years than Israel ever has.

Using this warped logic, numbers like 5.4 million, 400,000, and 65,000 are somehow less than 900 and deserve less worldwide moral outrage. The numbers, in the end, DO add up.

But to any rational person...this line of thinking just does not compute.

The Neighborhood Bully

Well, the neighborhood bully, he's just one man,
His enemies say he's on their land.
They got him outnumbered about a million to one,
He got no place to escape to, no place to run.
He's the neighborhood bully.

"Israel is not a legitimate entity, and no amount of pressure can force us to recognize its right to exist."
-Dr. Mahmud Al-Zahar, Hamas leader in Gaza, 2006

The neighborhood bully just lives to survive,
He's criticized and condemned for being alive.
He's not supposed to fight back, he's supposed to have thick skin,
He's supposed to lay down and die when his door is kicked in.
He's the neighborhood bully.

"Before Israel dies, it must be humiliated and degraded. Allah willing, before they die, they will experience humiliation and degradation every day."
-Dr. Mahmud Al-Zahar, Hamas leader in Gaza, 2006

The neighborhood bully been driven out of every land,
He's wandered the earth an exiled man.
Seen his family scattered, his people hounded and torn,
He's always on trial for just being born.
He's the neighborhood bully.

"Tomorrow, our nation will sit on the throne of the world. This is not a figment of the imagination, but a fact. Tomorrow we will lead the world, Allah willing.
-Khalid al-Mish'al, leader of Hamas, 2006

Well, he knocked out a lynch mob, he was criticized,
Old women condemned him, said he should apologize.
Then he destroyed a bomb factory, nobody was glad.
The bombs were meant for him.
He was supposed to feel bad.
He's the neighborhood bully.

"We are very concerned at the events in Gaza. We call for an immediate ceasefire and urge everybody to exert maximum restraint."
-Spokesman for Javier Solana, EU Foreign Minister, 2008

Well, the chances are against it and the odds are slim
That he'll live by the rules that the world makes for him,
'Cause there's a noose at his neck and a gun at his back
And a license to kill him is given out to every maniac.
He's the neighborhood bully.

"The only way to achieve lasting peace in Gaza is through peaceful means. Whilst we understand the Israeli government's obligation to protect its population we urge maximum restraint to avoid further civilian casualties.
-British Foreign Office Statement, 2008

He got no allies to really speak of.
What he gets he must pay for, he don't get it out of love.
He buys obsolete weapons and he won't be denied
But no one sends flesh and blood to fight by his side.
He's the neighborhood bully.

The 216th General Assembly approved several measures opposing the Israeli occupation of Palestine Friday, including a call for the corporate witness office of the Presbyterian Church (USA) to begin gathering data to support a selective divestment of holdings in multinational corporations doing business in Israel/Palestine.
-Presbyterian Church statement on divestment, 2004

Well, he's surrounded by pacifists who all want peace,
They pray for it nightly that the bloodshed must cease.
Now, they wouldn't hurt a fly.
To hurt one they would weep.
They lay and they wait for this bully to fall asleep.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Calls for renewed and urgent efforts by the parties and the international community to achieve a comprehensive peace based on the vision of a region where two democratic States, Israel and Palestine, live side by side in peace with secure and recognised borders
-UN Security Council 1850, 2009

Every empire that's enslaved him is gone,
Egypt and Rome, even the great Babylon.
He's made a garden of paradise in the desert sand,
In bed with nobody, under no one's command.
He's the neighborhood bully.

To hell with you all.
-Khalid al-Mish'al, leader of Hamas, speaking about German Chancellor Merkel's call for Hamas to recognize Israel, 2006

Now his holiest books have been trampled upon,
No contract he signed was worth what it was written on.
He took the crumbs of the world and he turned it into wealth,
Took sickness and disease and he turned it into health.
He's the neighborhood bully.

and from among those who are Jews; they are listeners for the sake of a lie, listeners for another people who have not come to you; they alter the words from their places
-The Holy Qur'an, late 7th century

What's anybody indebted to him for?
Nothin', they say.
He just likes to cause war.
Pride and prejudice and superstition indeed,
They wait for this bully like a dog waits to feed.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Neither the liberation of the Gaza Strip nor the liberation of the West Bank or even Jerusalem will suffice us. Hamas will pursue the armed struggle until the liberation of all our lands. We don't recognize the state of Israel or its right to hold onto one inch of Palestine. Palestine is an Islamic land belonging to all the Muslims."
-Dr. Mahmud al-Zahar, Hamas leader in Gaza, 2005

What has he done to wear so many scars?
Does he change the course of rivers?
Does he pollute the moon and stars?
Neighborhood bully, standing on the hill,
Running out the clock, time standing still,
Neighborhood bully.

For anyone who didn't know - the song, Neighborhood Bully was written by Bob Dylan in 1983. The "bully" in this case is the Jew, or the state of Israel. Funny though how the more things change...the more they stay the same.

More Mayhem in Gaza... (and Manhattan's Upper West Side)

Food, supplies, humanitarian aid not making it to innocent civilians. And who is responsible? Why Hamas of course!

Hamas on Monday raided some 100 aid trucks that Israel had allowed into Gaza, stole their contents and sold them to the highest bidders.

Sold to the highest bidders! How heroic! This is now the fourth story that I've posted that refers to these vile actions by the rulers of Gaza. But you won't hear about it on CNN, that's for sure.

Later in the article we learn that Israel is considering establishing a field hospital in the Gaza Strip to treat Palestinian civilians wounded in fighting between the IDF and Hamas.

The plan would be to establish the field hospital outside the Gaza Strip, but the IDF is also considering the possibility of erecting the hospital inside the Palestinian territory so it will be more accessible to the Palestinian population. It would be run by the IDF Medical Corps.

How barbaric! The evil Zionist occupying force whose only purpose in life is to kill and destroy Palestinians is going to spend resources building, running and maintaining a hospital for the residents of an enemy nation. As if supplying them with gas, electricity and water as well as hospitals for their terrorist leaders to hide in wasn't enough already.

How's that for a disproportionate response?

But that doesn't stop the genius "peace activist" fruitcakes who support them from rioting in the streets of New York at their peaceful demonstration on Sunday...

At least nine protesters were arrested in a pro-Palestinian rally Sunday afternoon in New York that injured seven police officers, authorities said.
Seven police officers were injured Sunday in New York City during a pro-Palestinian rally.

The extent of injuries varied from minor to serious, New York police said. Two officers sustained head injuries.

In a statement, the NYPD said the officers were injured when trying to break up a fight between two demonstrators.

"While attempting to separate the males, several others joined in and began to assault the officers," the statement said.

Usually when people say come to NYC and get a taste of the Middle East they're talking about sampling some shish kabobs at the local falafel stand, not witnessing Palestinian-on-Palestinian violence. Of course the same could be said about London, where pro-Palestinian peace activists tried to break in to the Israeli embassy and also had to be arrested. But then what do you expect from the same people who scream Heil Hitler at their rallies:

(First Hitler mention comes about half a minute into it and you can hear them screaming Hitler's name a few other times as well)

I mean, it's to the point that Fatah...FATAH, the same group that hijacked airliners and threw wheelchair-bound, Leon Klinghoffer off a cruise ship have become the voice of reason.

Speaking to The Jerusalem Post on condition of anonymity, the Fatah official denounced Hamas as a "black and bloody militia" that was responsible for the "catastrophe" in the Gaza Strip.

The official warned that failure to crush Hamas completely would undermine Fatah and pave the way for the collapse of moderate Arab regimes.

"The Iranians and Syrians are using Hamas to undermine the Palestinian Authority and other moderate Arab governments," the Fatah official told the Post. "Victory for Hamas in this war would mean victory for Iran, Syria and Hizbullah. This is something we need to prevent."

Let me be clear here about what this means.

The people that these protesters are supporting, excuse me - RIOTING OVER, the Palestinians, blame Hamas for the fighting and want them to lose.

Again...

THE PALESTINIANS THEMSELVES WANT HAMAS TO LOSE.

But don't tell that to the people who criticized my article about Jon Stewart's apparent support for these same people. Don't tell that to the United Nations, which continues to claim moral equivalency between the two sides with their unbelievable Security Council resolutions. Still, I think it needs to be said a third time, just in case anyone is still unclear what I mean...let me put it this way:

THE NEXT GENERATION OF THE PALESTINE LIBERATION ORGANIZATION, THE SUCCESSORS TO YASIR ARAFAT WANT ISRAEL TO DEFEAT A GANG OF SELF-PROCLAIMED PALESTINIAN "FREEDOM FIGHTERS"

It's mind-boggling, really. Hamas kills its own people, steals from its own people and intentionally targets innocent civilians. Israel builds hospitals for those same people that Hamas is stealing from, warns them to get out of the way of impending attacks and rescues those same terrorists from collapsing weapon-smuggling tunnels. Yet if you check out any of these "peaceful demonstrations" (scroll to the bottom of the posting to see the video I'm referring to) or read the comments section of my Jon Stewart blog you will see Israel and Zionists being portrayed as blood-thirsty baby-killers, while Hamas gets a free pass. Except from fellow baby-killers Fatah. And these people will tell you that they're not anti-Jewish, they're just anti-Zionist...as if there were any difference between the two.

How is this possible?

How can this be?

Is there any sanity left in this world at all?

Someone answer this riddle for me, please.

Shabbat Milchama

No Shabbat Shalom this week...

Israel fights on to defend her citizens into the sabbath.

God bless the men and women of the IDF.

God protect the men and women of southern Israel as well as the innocent Palestinian men and women in Gaza being held hostage by Hamas.

God protect Gilad Shalit as he spends yet another shabbat in captivity.

א מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד: יְהוָה רֹעִי, לֹא אֶחְסָר.

Still more Palestinians executed by Hamas

Following up on two previous reports of Hamas firing on aid convoys and killing six Fatah supporters in one case as well as executing dozens of suspected "Israel-collaborators" in another...today brings us more examples of this tyranny - this time from DEBKAfile:

Our sources disclose that the Hamas extremists are finding time for the brutal persecution of their rivals, the Palestinian Fatah. Under cover of the general mayhem, Hamas gangs are kidnapping Fatah operatives and executing them. Their bodies are tossed onto the mountains of uncollected garbage and their kinsmen informed where to find them. Hamas leaders are convinced their rivals are plotting to exploit the fighting to overthrow their regime.

Uncollected garbage. Well they are Fatah "operatives" after all. Lest we forget who these people are exactly, prior to the apologists' revisionist history of the post-Hamas-rise-to-power era, Fatah was responsible for no less than two intifadas and dozens of hijackings, murders, suicide bombings, shootings, knife attacks and thousands of dead and injured Jews. So while we at the RONMOSSAD blog don't feel TOO bad for these guys, they are the allegedly more "moderate" of the terrorist factions. See they at least PRETEND there might be hope, while Hamas tells it like it is. Which I GUESS is progress.

In any case, these Hamas saints, that are busily butchering their own fellow Palestinian Arabs, are the people the United Nations expects Israel to trust when they passed Resolution 1860 - which "stresses the urgency of and calls for an immediate, durable and fully respected ceasefire, leading to the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza."

Right. A "durable ceasefire" - with THESE people:

No mention of illegal weapons smuggling.

No mention of Hamas brutality against its own people.

No mention of violation of Israeli soverignty to kill and kidnap Israeli soldiers.

No mention of this guy:

No calls for Hamas to recognize Israel's right to exist.

No mention of Hamas at all.

It would be unbelievable if it wasn't so par for the course.

Thanks for the advice UN, but I think we'll continue taking care of our own business.

Bring back Gilad!

Will the real Jon Stewart please shut up?

Once upon a time I used to watch the Daily Show. Many many years ago, before the entire world had lost its mind, this Weekend Update clone was one of the funniest shows on television. With its mix of news satire, lampooning of so-called serious reporters and their story selection (as well as the subjects of those stories), and host Jon Stewart's very clever and often self-deprecating humor...the show caught like wildfire with younger Americans - especially college students. In fact, a 2004 Pew Research Center report found that 21% of people 18 to 29 rely on Jon Stewart for their news.

But things started to change in 2004. During the election that year something seemed a little...one-sided about the coverage. Yes there were jokes about both candidates, but there seemed to be something a little...harsher about the Bush jokes. The audience cheers and laughter only seemed at the expense of the Republican candidate. And then, there was this...

...Stewart's softball interview with John Kerry. Keep in mind this was at the height of the "flip-flop" and Swift Boat controversies. And just so that you don't think that Stewart isn't capable of hard-hitting interviews, take a look at this segment with National Review columnist, Jonah Goldberg.

So we can establish the fact that Stewart doesn't like conservatives and George Bush, but does like John Kerry. Which makes sense because that's pretty much the audience he's catering to. It's also not surprising because Stewart, born Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz, is Jewish. And as we all know, Jews hate Republicans. Oh and like Sarah Silverman, he is JEWWWWWWWISH. Take this passage from a recent Moment Magazine writeup on him:

Dispensing Jewish humor like a tic, Stewart’s impish grin, self-deprecating punch lines and jokey cultural references are a staple of the show. He has referred to himself as “Jewey Von Jewstein” and cracked wise on Jewish noses, circumcision, anti-Semites, Jews who play baseball (a short list), Israel as “Heebie Land” and his grandma at Passover. When it comes to Jewish and Israeli politics, he stomps where WASPier comedians fear to tread. But although he regularly brings up the fact that he is Jewish, he rarely speaks earnestly about his Jewish upbringing or what being Jewish means to him.

Well of course he doesn't speak about what being Jewish means to him...he changed his last name to Stewart and married a Catholic woman. My guess is that it doesn't mean all THAT much. But it makes for some hilarious jokes.

In any case Moment Magazine came to the conclusion that Stewart is "the perfect Jewish ambassador" to represent us to the gentiles.

Is he really?

In his first show back from his Christmas vacation Stewart kicks off 2009 with a segment called "Strip Maul."

After yet another President Bush joke (will these ever end?) Stewart goes on (grinning and laughing the whole time) to remark that "it's not like Hamas lobbing missiles is an unusual and new occurrence, why does Israel feel they have to react so strongly now?" Why indeed. Stewart decides that it's because Israel is worried they won't have "carte blanche" in the "bombing department" from Obama. After some clips of American politicians supporting what should be a country he has an emotional connection to, Stewart appears frustrated with their one-sidedness.

But most galling is his mocking of Bloomberg's analogy for the "disproportionate force" argument at the end of the segment. Stewart actually appears to JUSTIFY the Palestinian rocket fire into Israel by making a joke about having "forced that guy to live in [his] hallway and make him go through check points every time he needs to take a [expletive deleted]."

Really Jon?

He then goes on to have an awkward interview with the new host of Meet the Press, David Gregory. In it he remarks at how "surprising" it his to him that no one ever seems to criticize Israel in "any way" for their "behavior" (claps and cheers abound after his statement). Stewart brings up the Israeli settlements, also as an apparent justification for the Hamas action and refers to Israel as a third rail issue.

Ok terrific.

I'm not even sure where to start here...

Wait I know...SHUT UP JON! You've made it clear that you don't care about your heritage or about Judaism in general, except for as a cheap laugh on your show every so often. You've made it clear that you have a political agenda - you support the Democrats which by definition makes you biased. And if there's one thing I can't stand, it's a comedian with an agenda. Your job is to make us LAUGH not to convince us to vote for your candidate, but that's a different conversation entirely.

Here's ANOTHER "ambassador" for the Jewish people ripping on Israel's right to self-defense. It's EMBARRASSING. And I'm so sick and tired of it already.

Jon - it's not your place to represent us to ANYONE. You don't like Israel's reaction to Gaza? You think Gaza rocket fire is because of SETTLEMENTS? You mean the settlements that Israel dismantled in Gaza? The ruins of which the Palestinians are now firing rockets from at your brothers and sisters? You ignorant, embarrassment to the Jews. Have you ever even read the Hamas charter? Have you ever watched Palestinian television?

You say Israel "forces" Palestinians to "live in the hallway" huh? You have a problem with checkpoints? Do you know why there are checkpoints? Let me educate you Jonathan. It's because when there were no checkpoints, Hamas and Fatah Palestinian SUICIDE KILLERS would do everything they could to sneak into Israel and bomb women and children in pizza stores. Do you understand what that means? You're sitting at the Sbarro on 33rd St in Manhattan with your son Nathan Thomas and your daughter Maggie Rose when all of the sudden

KABOOM!

Oh and hey - those same poor people who have to go through the checkpoints that you are so upset over (who would kill you and your children the first chance they could) celebrated this event with a "Sbarro Cafe Exhibition" complete with body parts and pizza slices. Oh and Jon, that was just one of FOUR such attacks in the month of August/2001. So yes, we have some checkpoints.

You know what else we have though, Jonathan? Doctors. And that guy that we force to live in the hallway and go through checkpoints? We also treat his son for cancer. Would Hamas do that for your children, Jon? Or would they try to blow them up during your Passover seder? That is, assuming you have a Passover seder.

You get it now? You understand maybe why EVERYONE with any common sense or understanding of the situation backs Israel? You understand why no one in Congress criticizes Israel's response? No Jon, it's not because you can't criticize Israel and still get elected. It's because Israel is RIGHT.

Hamas is WRONG.

Israel is RIGHT.

It's that simple. But what does it matter who's right and who's wrong...it's all about the ratings and the Oscars and moving out of cable and onto a major network. Right Jon?

You may be a funny guy, but you are most certainly NOT our ambassador.

And for God's sake Jon, it's pronounced Is-RA-el not Is-REAL.

Why not Gilad?

Let's face it...Hamas is being beaten to a pulp. They've taken to hiding in schools and using them as bases to launch mortars at Israeli soldiers they've been unable to dislodge from their positions. Despite all the "peace-protests" and UN condemnations of Israeli "disproportionate force" the IDF is conducting itself in a professional, efficient manner and has proven it has learned the lessons of the 2006 Lebanon war.

Now we hear that Hamas gunmen are attacking aid convoys and seizing fuel, flour and medicine for themselves. From the previously-linked story:

Reports say Hamas takes a cut out of all aid that arrives, including flour and medicine. Supplies intended to be distributed without gain among the population is seized by the group and sold to the residents, at a profit to the Hamas government.

One such incident was recorded Monday, when a convoy of trucks carrying supplies through the Kerem Shalom crossing was opened fire upon and seized by Hamas gunmen. Similar incidents occurred with trucks carrying fuel.

In other cases, civilians are simply used as cannon fodder or human shields. Reports out of Gaza say residents who attempted to flee their homes in the northern area of the Strip were forced to go back at gunpoint, by Hamas men.

The organization is presumably interested in increasing civilian casualties in order to give rise to international pressure against Israel. Arab media reported that in an IDF strike on a UN school 30 civilians were killed, but there is no legitimate way to prove gunmen were among those killed as Hamas tends to bury these bodies quickly, thus eliminating evidence in Israel's favor.

Other civilian complaints state that Hamas gunmen pull children along with them "by the ears" from place to place, fearing that if they don't have a child with them they will be fair game to the IDF. Others hide in civilian homes and stairwells, UNRWA ambulances, and mosques.

In other reported cases Hamas gunmen hold civilians hostage in alleyways in order to provide themselves with a living barricade to ward off IDF forces.

In addition Hamas has opened a "gunmen only" hospital, using those aforementioned stolen medicine shipments.

They have ceased to function as a governing body, their "leaders" are all hiding underground.

And more reports are coming in that Hamas is continuing to execute suspected collaborators with Israel.

Six Palestinians suspected of collaborating with Israel have been executed in the past two days by Hamas security officers in the fighting zone in Jabalya, Ynet has learned.

Among the alleged collaborators were three brothers, one of whom attempted before his arrest to swallow a cell phone's SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card, which is believed to have documented his conversations with Israeli security officials.

Wow, how odd that CNN isn't reporting on this today. MSNBC? Comments from the UN? Christiane Amanpour? France? Anyone? Bueller?

The story continues:

A source in Hamas referred to the report, saying that "an assassination or an air strike cannot take place without guidance from the ground, and all these guys confessed to the act."

According to the source, the three confessed at the presence of their sister, who announced in public that she condemned her brothers and would cut all ties with them due to their betrayal.

A fourth sibling from the same family was executed last week after attempting to escape a bombed Gaza jail. He was imprisoned for collaborating with Israel and for aiding the assassination of Amar Karmut, the former leader of the Salah al-Din Brigades, the Popular Resistance Committees' military wing in the northern Strip.

Any way you want to spin it, Israel is winning this fight in a very convincing fashion. Hamas in Gaza is on the verge of collapse...their "fighters" have zero communication with command-and-control. They are essentially just roaming the streets trying to get the Israelis to follow them deeper into civilian centers in a pathetic and disgraceful attempt to push up the civilian casualty rate. But honestly, what's a few more dead Palestinians to Hamas if it increases pressure on Israel to cease-fire? Most of the Israelis killed in this incursion have been in "friendly-fire" incidents. There has been no "third intifada" to speak of and Hizballah has been behaving like good, docile little puppies ever since the Lebanon war that Israel supposedly lost.

So the question begs to be asked...

Why not Gilad?

Bring him home IDF. Make any cease-fire contingent on the return of Gilad, alive and unharmed. Hamas is desperate, they are growing more desperate by the minute and so is the rest of the world to put an end to this. They are FAILING. DO NOT ABANDON HIM to whatever fate his barbarian captors sentence him to when they inevitably goose step through the Strip declaring victory despite the fact that their territory is in ruins.

Do the right thing.

No more rockets.

No more weapon smuggling tunnels.

No more kidnappings.

Bring back Gilad Shalit.

The barbaric IDF, in pictures

Just received this from an Israeli friend of mine. Check this out (apologies in advance for the watermarks), straight from the front lines in Gaza:

What's going on in this picture, taken during a similar recent incursion into Gaza?

Is it...

A. Boy scouts trying to earn their climbing badge

B. A Middle-Eastern re-enactment of the Baby Jessica saga?

C. A lost scene from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

Or

D. Hamas terrorists who fired rockets into Israeli kindergartens being rescued from a collapsed weapons-smuggling tunnel by "bloodthirsty" Israeli soldiers

The correct answer, of course is D.

That's right...after a day of gunbattles, casualties and attempted kidnappings of the aforementioned Israeli soldiers...after cornering several of the same Hamas men

that killed their own soldiers as well as suicide bombing, shooting and rocketing THOUSANDS OF CIVILIANS since 2000...helped them up out of their weapon smuggling tunnels...

Carefully bandaged their wounds...

Gave them tea...

Blankets.

And rushed them to a Be'er Sheva hospital.

Again...I would like to reiterate what I just said. Israeli soldiers - the same Israeli soldiers that media outlets and "peace activists" all over the world call aggressive, violent and disproportionate, in some cases even comparing them to NAZIS - in the midst of an invasion...RESCUED the very people they were invading and gave them medical attention.

Nazis. Barbaric. Aggressive. Disproportionate.

That's how we are portrayed all over the media. And not just the Arab media...we see this anti-Israel, anti-IDF propaganda in Brazil, Britain, and various other Western nations.

Don't even get me started on what happens when you mock Muslims in cartoons...because that's a whole different story.

The story here is that again, the Israel Defense Force displays its compassion and reminds everyone why it is the most moral army on the planet and the world reacts with...silence. As usual. But they WILL report on any tragic mistake the Israelis make and any individual civilian that is hurt or killed while being used as a human shield by Hamas.

It goes without saying that no Israeli soldier should expect similar treatment if they are captured behind enemy lines.

In October of 2000 (a year before 9/11, three years before Iraq, six years before Lebanon, eight years before the "siege" of Gaza) two non-combatant Israeli reserve soldiers,

Vadim Nurzhitz and Yossi Avrahami took a wrong turn and ended up on the wrong end of a lynch mob in Ramallah...

Ever Heard of the Ramallah Lynching? - The best video clips are here

I'm warning you in advance - the above video clip is pretty graphic. It shows a Palestinian crowd dumping the body of one of the above-mentioned Israelis out of a window, cheering and celebrating as one of the lynchers shows his blood-covered hands to them.

These are the people that Rosanne Barr, Cynthia McKinney, Christiane Amanpour and all the various "peace-activists" cry over. These are the people that we are fighting against.

Except when we're rescuing them.

How barbaric indeed.

This just in - HAMAS executes PALESTINIAN non-combatants

I just stumbled across this story from the Jerusalem Post that I had to share with you immediately.

From the article:

Fatah officials in Ramallah told The Jerusalem Post that Hamas militiamen had been assaulting many Fatah activists since the beginning of the operation last Saturday. They said at least 75 activists were shot in the legs while others had their hands broken.

Wisam Abu Jalhoum, a Fatah activist from the Jabalya refugee camp, was shot in the legs by Hamas militiamen for allegedly expressing joy over the IDF air strikes on Hamas targets.

"Hamas is very nervous, because they feel that their end is nearing," a senior Fatah official said. "They have been waging a brutal campaign against Fatah members in the Gaza Strip."

Meanwhile,
sources close to Hamas revealed over the weekend that the movement had "executed" more than 35 Palestinians who were suspected of collaborating with Israel and were being held in various Hamas security installations.

What a delightful group of people for dumb "liberal" American Jews to defend!

There you go guys...here's the people that you're counting on to bring freedom and liberation to the Palestinians.

Somehow I'm not so confident.

WHY isn't this being reported all over the news? Why isn't this front-page on CNN.com? Why isn't anyone else talking about this except for the Jerusalem Post? If the claims are true and approximately 20-25% of the dead are non-combatants (an unbelievably low number for an air campaign) that means MORE THAN A THIRD OF THEM HAVE BEEN EXECUTED BY HAMAS THEMSELVES.

But no, all those self-righteous "journalists" at CNN are too busy hopping around talking about the innocent civilians who are either mistakenly caught in the crossfire or are deliberately used as human shields.

Here's a fun statistic for you...if 20% of the dead/injured on the Palestinian side are non-combatants thus far...100% of the Israelis are thus far.

Israel tries to avoid civilian deaths and the world reacts with outrage.

Hamas DELIBERATELY targets Israeli civilians and DELIBERATELY executes their own civilians and there's nothing but silence.

“To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.”
-Abraham Lincoln

SILENCE.

INVASION

Party's over boys...

Israel has finally sent its ground soldiers into Gaza in an attempt to protect its southern citizens from rocket attacks.

But you wouldn't know it from CNN.

Fredricka Whitfield is talking to Reda Mansour, the Israeli Consul General in Atlanta, about "hope" for the future.

She's chastising him about Israeli actions, repeatedly asking him "what the point" of this is when both sides can never agree. Now she's asking him how he feels when he sees images of Israeli soldiers going into Gaza, knowing there will be more bloodshed.

I don't know Fredricka, maybe he feels like the Jews in Auschwitz did on D-Day - hopeful that they would be rescued from their foreign oppressors? Maybe he feels the way someone who has witnessed a murder feels when they see the police finally going to arrest the suicidal perpetrators (who are armed with RPG's and anti-tank missiles)? AFTER ALMOST EIGHT YEARS.

But I have a question for you Mrs. Whitfield...do you know anything about the person you are interviewing? Did you know that Reda Mansour is not only not Jewish, not only an Arab, but a Muslim himself? What makes him any different than the people in Gaza, precisely? If this is just a war of ideals between two sides that can never understand each other...can you explain to me how it is possible that one side (Israel) has people from the other side not just as functioning members of society but as AMBASSADORS to other countries? Does any Muslim country have any Jewish soccer stars? How about any Jews in foreign ministry positions? Does any Muslim country have any Jews in anything other than the dhimmi position? How can it be that someone like Mansour can bury the hatchet and become a part of civil society but Hamas only wants to killkillkill?

We don't ask these questions on CNN now do we? It's much easier to harass representatives of Israel on television and demand from them what the "point" is of an operation that is designed to put an end to rocket fire on innocent civilians! What's the "point" of protecting Jews from murder, death and destruction? Right Fredricka? This goes along with nonstop conversations with Christiane Amanpour, various Arab representatives and our favorite Hamas tool, Ben Wedeman about what can be done to stop this invasion. Whitfield just exclaimed with horror that even though "so many" have spoken out against the Israeli action, no one has really done anything to help the Palestinians.

Meantime not a single word about the Jewish CIVILIAN victims of this nightmare...

...which by the way is what it's all about. There you go Fredricka, that's the "point" of this. Did you see those little children running away in panic as sirens blare? All they have is 15 seconds to scream their way to the nearest bomb shelter. Why don't you report on the fact that when ISRAEL bombs, they CALL the neighbors of the terrorists first to warn them to evacuate. What other military willingly throws away the element of surprise in an attempt to protect the OTHER side's civilians?? Clearly not Hamas as you can see by the video above.

Imagine for a minute that was your life...and that attacks like that happened in your city not just everyday...not just 5 times a day but 30-80 times a day. FOR EIGHT YEARS. You get up in the morning, drink your cup of coffee, read the newspaper, walk to the school bus stop with your children when all of the sudden RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT. You're at your child's birthday party with all of your friends and family, cutting the cake and singing and giving presents, laughing and talking and RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT. You are out on a date with your wife or husband, out to dinner after a long day's work just trying to unwindRED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERTRED ALERT RED ALERT.

What nation on this planet would accept this kind of reality?

And so we have the invasion that Hamas has been begging for for years.

There is however, another invasion underway. This one may be a little closer to your home...especially if you live in South Florida. This video:

Was sent to me by my friends over at the Australian Islamist Monitor.

I, like Tom Trento (the guy who shot the video) can't really say too much that these peace activists aren't saying on their own.

Some choice quotes from the video:

"Nuke, nuke Israel!"

"Go back to the ovens! You need a big oven"

"Once people really understand the real beauty of Islam they'll have no choice but to accept it"

My, what a lovely demonstration for peace, understanding and liberalism you have put on for us here. All in defense of the right to shoot rockets into Israeli cities. Can anyone watch that video and not get the impression that if not for the police that an anti-Jewish pogrom would have erupted in the streets of Fort Lauderdale? This is TERRORISM. These people are TERRORIZING Jews in America. It's moments like this that remind me again of why every Jew, no matter what their political affiliation must support Israel's right to exist and defend itself. For the umpteenth time, demonstrators who claim they are anti-Israel but not anti-Jewish are LYING to you. Period.

But where is the outrage? Why isn't this being reported on CNN? They call these near-riots "demonstrations against Israeli actions" instead of what they really are. And they never show you this kind of footage...in fact they never show you ANY footage of these Nazi-wannabes. Just more pictures of crying Palestinian children.

For the second week in a row I'm going to close with a prayer...this one from Tehillim.

Psalm 121

1 A Song of Ascents.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: from whence shall my help come?
2 My help cometh from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved; He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, He that keepeth Israel doth neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper; the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall keep thee from all evil; He shall keep thy soul.
8 The LORD shall guard thy going out and thy coming in, from this time forth and for ever.
